My hubs snapped this shot while DD & I were tired and overheated on vacation in Mexico. I didn’t have the energy to cary these big kids without the Boba! (Never mind the mess we were!)
First of all, I want to thank Boba and YOU. Because of all of you, checking out this little mommy blog and sharing with your friends, my pageviews have steadily increased. With this steady increase I am able to review products that I didn’t previously qualify to review. It’s a win win! You get a chance to win awesome products and I reach more families. My gratitude is unending!
On to the review. Have you heard about Boba carriers? They are AH-MAZING. I’m in love. Boba carriers have features that I haven’t found on any other carrier. Because we had twins, we were looking for cost effective baby products. This method actually wasted more money because on several occasions we wound up purchasing products that were low quality and we used them much less. We originally purchased carriers that allowed us to face our babies facing in or out. Once I learned more about baby wearing safety, I learned that wearing baby in an outward facing position with their legs dangling, can be dangerous for the health of their lower back and hips. (http://www.continuum-concept.org/reading/spinalStress.html) I used the baby wrap we were given much more because it was comfortable, however, I always found myself worried about how safe it was. You really have to make sure baby is in the correct position assuring they can breathe properly in a wrap and sling.
I wish I had know about the Boba when the twins were infants! I found it very helpful to wear one baby while I was out and about running errands. It left room in the shopping cart for the other baby so that I didn’t have to push a stroller and pull a cart with the other hand.
On to why I like the Boba so much. After having bought (or been given) a couple different styles and brands of carriers I would up loving the Boba carrier most of all. It supports infants to toddlers with a weight range from 7-45 lbs. The Boba carrier has a sleep hood that can be tucked away in a zipper pouch or removed altogether when not in use. One of my favorite features (which I haven’t found on another carrier) are the foot straps which keep your toddler’s legs in proper alignment. I feel safe knowing that my son and daughter are in the proper position while riding in this carrier! The foot straps also help balance my toddler’s weight so that, while using the foot straps, I am even more comfortable wearing him or her. An added bonus, is that the foot straps keep my littles from kicking random things I’m walking by!
I’m sure many of you are thinking “Really? Janice, do you seriously wear your 3 year olds?!?” Um, in a word, YES! Undoubtably, when we are at store of some kind, a dispute will break out about who is walking, riding in the shopping cart or riding in the stroller. To avoid this dispute or free roving toddlers touching EVERYTHING on EVERY shelf, I ask in the car, “Who wants to ride in the Boba?” If they both want to, then, we take turns. They love being on my back, able to see things at my height and interact with other shoppers. We also make good use of our Boba when the kids are tired, sick, or are out for a long day of walking. When my son is sick he likes to be carried A LOT. It takes it’s toll on this momma with chronic migraine. When he is sick, I wear the Boba and strap him in whenever he wants “up peeze”.
An added bonus to the Boba is that it is amazingly simple to adjust from front to back wearing positions. There are these sweet sliding adjustments which make fitting this carrier to your body and each of your kiddo’s sizes like no other. if you are looking for a carrier that will work for your kids from birth to childhood this is it. My husband and I take the kids on hikes with them strapped to our backs. I wish we would have had them at Disneyland! On our recent vacation we left the stroller at home and took the Bobas. If the kids didn’t want to walk, they rode on our fronts or backs with out the bulk of a stroller. It made me feel safer knowing that if they weren’t holding my hand walking at my side, they were on our backs!
I see moms carrying their infants in their car seats with the babies fussing away and I want to GIVE them a carrier and let them know that their baby will fuss much less if they are next to your heart! Unfortunately, I can’t hand out Boba carriers to everyone BUT, I can let you in on a giveaway The Boba Family is hosting! If you can’t view the Rafflecopter giveaway below, reload this page.
